Anxiety

Worry is one of the main symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder. An individual may have a problem with worry if you have been excessively apprehensive, more days than not, for at least six months. Severely anxious people find it difficult to control their worry and typically experience these symptoms:

  • Restlessness
  • Fatigue
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Irritability
  • Muscle tension
  • Sleep disturbance

Panic is a period of tense, at times, irrational fear. When you experience a panic attack an individual may feel some of the following symptoms very intensely, reaching a peak quickly.

  • Fast, pounding heart rate
  • Trembling
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pains
  • Stomach discomfort or nausea

Addressing anxiety in counseling may include medication and therapy. Cedar Tree Counseling will guide individuals through the therapeutic process with various strategies including cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused techniques.
